Inspired by the coast of South Devon this seascape painting on canvas is an expressive representation aimed at capturing the movement and texture of the sea and sky.

Painted using oil paint in a series of layers has allowed me to draw upon the unique quality of the sea. An abstract approach has enabled me to evoke an expressive painting that captures a sense of the scene. The painting was finally finished with the palette knife to build upon the texture of the sea in the foreground.
