Yes, there’s a beach in Hamburg and definitely plenty of seagulls that love to snatch your fish sandwich right out of your hand ;). That’s where the idea for this image came from: these seagulls stride towards the viewer with confidence and curiosity.
I was also drawn to the way the birds are reflected in the water: a further development of the idea behind my leg photographs.

The edges are painted so the painting can be hung without additional framing.
