Santa Rosa Palm (2025) Original Mixed-media Painting by Catherine Twomey

Painted En Plein Air in Palm Springs, CA last spring. Early in the morning, I finally understood where the Rosa name came from. It's incredible how deep the shadows can be in the morning. The rock formations dominated the scene, but the lone palm held its own against the stunning blue sky. Framed in a custom burlwood frame perfectly suited to this desert scene. The pigments are fused with the Aquabord, making this a Contemporary Fresco. It is varnished and does not need glass.
