Royal Mango, Ashoka & Banyan Trees (2025) Original Gouache Painting by Mukesh Swami
24 x 27 x 0.1cm (unframed)
£401.47
Original artwork description
This artwork is inspired by the rich botanical traditions of Indian Miniature Painting, where every tree is painted not only for its natural beauty but also for its symbolic meaning. I wanted to bring together three iconic plants—the Mango Tree, Cypress Tree, and Banana Plant—in a single harmonious composition that reflects abundance, longevity, and prosperity.
Created entirely by hand using traditional miniature painting techniques, every leaf, branch, and bird was painted with an ultra-fine brush over many hours of careful work. The balanced arrangement and delicate detailing are influenced by the historic Bikaner School of Miniature Painting, a tradition that has been preserved by my family for generations.
What makes this artwork special is its combination of botanical accuracy and decorative elegance. Rather than portraying a realistic landscape, it presents nature as a timeless symbol of peace, harmony, and cultural heritage. My aim was to create a painting that invites viewers to slow down, appreciate fine craftsmanship, and experience the quiet beauty of India's miniature painting tradition.
