Rough Ride (2024)
“The most captivating landscapes are those that refuse to reveal their coordinates. They exist in the friction between what we see and what we remember, inviting us on a journey where the destination is less important than the curiosity that drives us.”

* The Enigmatic Horizon: This 70 x 100 cm abstract landscape is a masterclass in visual ambiguity. Drenched in a sophisticated palette of muted turquoise, frosted mint, and weathered ochre, the composition teases the eye with the ghost of a landscape. By applying the Blinkered method, I have intentionally obscured the source of inspiration, leaving only the "vibration" of a place—be it a misty mountain pass or a turbulent coastline—for the viewer to decipher.

* The Musical Cipher: The title Rough Ride serves as a rhythmic clue within my "sonic diary." It references a track with a complex, slightly unstable tempo that guided the physical application of the paint—the scrapes, the drips, and the overlapping glazes. I invite the collector to find the auditory friction that matches these textured layers; only when the music’s restless energy aligns with the visual "roughness" of the linen is the true frequency of this contemporary painting unlocked.

* Textural Mystery: Executed on premium linen, the painting’s surface is a study in material curiosity. Using unconventional DIY tools, I’ve built a "kaleidoscopic" field of cool tones that seem to shift and recede, creating a sense of atmospheric depth. This work is designed for the inquisitive mind—a piece that doesn't just decorate a wall, but constantly asks the viewer: “Where have you seen this before?”
