Original artwork description
Painted on-site in the artist's neighborhood in Minneapolis with oil over casein paint on canvas. Features an autumn maple tree with a dazzling display of red leaves, from deep red to rose red, with light pink and orange-red accents. The shape and color of the tree evoke the image of a heart. The tree is accented by a sky of cerulean blue, golden leaves and grasses, and an evergreen at the right. Watery effects in the background grass and sky were created with casein paint, and glazed with oil. The texture of the foliage is enhanced by thickly textured paint applied with palette knife, and incorporates iridescent paint in shades of pearl, gold, and bronze.
The sides of the stretched canvas are painted, and it is ready to hang. The shallow stretcher bars would also fit into any type of frame if a frame is desired.
