I adore botanical detail and I create images with plenty of them, focusing in on tiny stamens, petal texture, colours, gestures and more.

Featuring an array of Roses from Borde Hill, West Sussex, whilst on my first shoot after lockdown. A day firmly planted in my memory as a day of being back in a quiet rose-laden garden, with the sounds of nature.

Enveloped in blooms of various colours, this botanical print encapsulates the feeling of freedom felt while re-discovering the beauty of Roses. It has a vintage feel with roses as the star of the show.

My work is created by arranging flowers repeatedly until I find a pleasing composition and then photographed traditionally using natural light. Digital adjustments are made to optimise the shadows, blacks and highlights.
