The painting of "Rocks, Pleherel Plage " is worked up from a watercolour study I did while on holiday in Brittany. The powerful grey, orange rocks contrast with the soft colour of the sand and the translucent turquoise, blue green of the sea. This part of Brittany is known as the Emerald coast because of the amazing colour of the sea.
