Series: “Rising Skies ", Auvergne Landscapes, France.

From my studio window, the sky is an inexhaustible theatre of inspiration. Through this series, I sought to capture its living, fleeting architecture—that fleeting moment when light sculpts vapor into a suspended monument.

The choice of an oval format emerged as an organic necessity. Freed from right angles, the canvas embraces the curves of cloud formations, amplifying their vertical ascent. By drawing the gaze directly to the meteorological phenomenon, this oval invites an intimate, quiet contemplation of the immense.

The ephemeral architecture of a monumental cumulus, emerging from a storm-laden base and rising vertically toward a patch of blue sky, inspired this work.

Materials used:

This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas mounted on wood panel. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
