Original artwork description:

What does rest mean to you? Contemplating rest, I realised that it means bright, bold colours which energise and soothe me, nature scenes and daily, weekly rhythms of everyday rest. This is a scene of Spring time horse chestnut trees blooming into giant umbrella leaves, near a brook where I walk daily. Acid yellow, emerald green leaves meet bright pink trunks, and bouncing light off a pool of water. The mark making is expressive and gestural.

Materials used:

Acrylic on Canvas
