In Reminiscence, figures emerge within an intimate landscape of childhood symbols. The bears evoke the tenderness, familiarity and sense of security associated with early memories, while their presence takes on a more ambiguous meaning beneath the nostalgic surface.

The work explores the relationship between vulnerability and inner strength. What once represented comfort can become a source of resilience, an internal refuge carried from childhood into adulthood. Surrounded by these silent companions, the figures confront the uncertainties, fears and challenges of their own journey.

Rather than presenting nostalgia simply as a longing for the past, the painting considers memory as an active part of identity, something we carry forward, reinterpret and transform as we grow.

Reminiscence invites the viewer to reflect on what remains with us from childhood, and how those fragments of memory may become a quiet source of strength in the present.
