Red forest is a series of four paintings born out of the popular sold out Branch series. These paintings were completed in 2004 from drawings produced in forests in North Yorkshire. The paintings aim to be semi-abstract in form and look to evoke a sense of being within a forest. The paintings are based on drawings of tangled branches, leaves, footprints, marks in the ground and organic forms. Red forest 4 is a textural painting with thick areas of oil and several layers of oil gloss resin.
