Red Fish

Oil painting on Hardy Plank.

I like to paint on found materials sometimes. This is one of those paintings. A bright, colorful fish, thickly painted on reclaimed Hardy style cement fibre plank. It's a cement board used for building siding. VERY solid. Probably last forever. It is mould made, formed with a heavy "wood grain" surface that I think more looks like water than wood. So I took advantage of the surface to give the painting a feel of water.

The fish is bright red with yellow fins, white underneath. Expressive, thick paint gives this painting a very lively surface. One of a kind, for sure.

Initialed on the front.

I've included a shot of the back, which can be wired to hang before I ship.

Cheers
