Reaching for the Light (2024)Acrylic painting

In this expressive piece, I've intertwined abstraction with expressionism in a response to looking up at trees evoking a sense of growth, and an innate reaching towards the light through a forest canopy. With tones of green and gold this creation is an homage to the spirit of nature, a visual symphony that will infuse any space with a sense of peace and the limitless possibilities that lie above us. The painting continues round the sides, a frame is not needed and it is ready to hang.
An original artwork, one of a kind, this painting has been created with high quality acrylic paints on deep edged canvas. I begin with observation of the place making notes and taking photographs to work from in the studio. From these beginnings I work intuitively, painting some base layers with a brush and then impasto techniques layer on layer applied with a palette knife. The painting continues round the sides, a frame is not needed and it is ready to hang
