This is a piece taken from a Netherlandish 16th Century black and white drawing,
A collection of elephants in different poses. To bring them to life in a colourful way I decided to apply the colours of the rainbow. Each representing a colour of the rainbow, although as I have eight elephants, two of these had to be the same colour. It was quite difficult to decide which colour to apply and which elephants, but I chose the two in the far background.
Perfect for adding a statement piece to living spaces that may create a talking point with visitors.
Executed in excellent quality acrylic paints, painted on all sides, and finished with a glaze of gloss varnish to protect against sunlight and dust. It just needs a nail or wall fitting to sit flush against the wall.

The painting is 16 x 12 inches in size and is on stretched canvas.
