Original artwork description:

This painting of a rain forest was inspired by a recent visit to Dorrigo National Park.
Dorrigo National Park is a national park in New South Wales, Australia, 580 kilometres (360 mi) north of Sydney, and 5 kilometres east of the town of Dorrigo.
The park is part of the New England Group of the World Heritage Site Gondwana Rain forests of Australia inscribed in 1986 and added to the Australian National Heritage List in 2007.
The most extensive strip of diverse rain forest anywhere on earth, the area protected by the park is recognised for its exceptional natural beauty.
As well as towering and lush rainforest trees, the area is renowned for its dramatic waterfalls; so much that part of the park was first reserved in 1901 to protect the Sherrard and Newell Falls along the Waterfall Way. There is also the Crystal Shower Falls, where we could walk behind the waterfall itself and the Casuarina Falls
Dorrigo National Park plays home to many different animals, including 30 types of mammals, more than 128 kinds of birds and 44 species of amphibians and reptiles.
Local Aboriginal custodians are involved in managing Aboriginal sites in the park, and continuing their connection to country.

Materials used:
