Queens Tennis (2024) Original Ink Drawing by David Lloyd
14 x 21 x 0.1cm (unframed) / 14 x 21cm (actual image size)
£150
Original artwork description
This Ink portrait of Australian Jordan Thompson was drawn whilst watching him play tennis live on a bright sunny at the Queen’s Club in London. The bright weather helped to cast some interesting shadows and I think this one looks a bit like the Sugar Puffs cereal Honey Monster! I enjoy trying to capture the players whilst they are serving and returning as they will repeat certain movements and poses. As these movements only last for a few seconds I will concurrently work on multiple drawings during a match switching between them as the games progress and players serve and return. Starting from rough line drawings of basic shapes the details will be built up throughout the match.
Materials used:
Ink on 160gsm Paper
Details:
- Ink drawing on Paper
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 14 x 21 x 0.1cm (unframed) / 14 x 21cm (actual image size)
- Signed on the back
- Style: Expressive and gestural
- Subject: People and portraits
