PUNTIDIVISTA #8 (2025) Original Mixed-media Painting by Johna Gussoni

31 x 43 x 3cm (framed)

£689.6

“Puntidivista” is a work that invites reflection on the value of perspective, not only as a visual experience, but as a way of interpreting reality. Created using 430 recycled tobacco sticks, it makes use of the three-dimensional nature of the filters to create an iridescent effect: viewed from one side, it reveals a predominance of blue, whilst from the opposite side, white emerges.

The colour changes depending on the viewing angle, transforming the work into a dynamic experience that directly engages the viewer. It is not the work that changes, but the viewer’s perspective.

The title ‘Puntidivista’ encapsulates the work’s deeper meaning: every reality can be interpreted in different ways, and it is often precisely by changing one’s perspective that new possibilities emerge. It is the same approach that gave rise to my artistic research: observing a material commonly regarded as waste and recognising it as a resource, capable of transforming itself into a means of expression and taking on a new life. The work thus becomes a metaphor for creativity and sustainability, reminding us that change always begins with a different way of looking at the world around us.

Materials used:

paint, tobacco, paper, cellulose, resin
