43 x 50cm (unframed)

£95

Watercolour with pen and ink, originally for ‘This is London’ (1959). This exceptional print is comparable in many ways to work by the Futurists – see Cyril Power’s ‘Tube Station’ for instance (Cyril Power- Artists). There is wonderful geometry guiding us vortex-like into this print; particularized people: the guardsman, the city gent in top hat, the woman shopper and the tweed jacketed gentleman; but it is the vibrancy of the colours, particularly, which make this print so much a favourite.

This print is authorised for publication by the artist's Estate and has a seal of authenticity embossed onto the white paper margin. It is from a limited edition of 850 and is hand-numbered and hand-embossed. This print has a typed caption running along its paper border. The caption indicates permission and authorisation from the artist's Estate, and from the museum or gallery holding the work. The caption will be concealed by a mount when the print is framed.
