Original artwork description
She was known long before ancient Greeks under a name of Cora. After her abduction from the earth to the underworld by Hades, the earth was not able to produce anything. Hades was forced to release her but tricked her to eat pomegranate seeds. This obliged her to come back to the underworld for three months every year.
The plot of her abduction is the base for famous "Beauty and the Beast" and her absence for every three months is the reason for winter.
Original handmade painting on a gallery wrapped cotton canvas done with palette knife. High quality natural pigment oil paints are used. Edges are painted, does not require framing - the artwork is ready to hang. Covered with dammar varnish to preserve color and protect from UV-light, dust and moisture.
The artwork is signed on the front and signed certificate of authenticity is provided.
