Watercolour and ink, originally for This is New York, 1960. This is, of course, Park Avenue New York – the iconic boulevard in Manhattan running north-south and containing some of the world’s most famous buildings: the Waldorf-Astoria, the Seagram Building, and – central here – the Helmsley Building. But this is wondrous scale. A parade of colourful cars forms the base; huge verticals form the sides, and central picture the full stop of the diminutive Helmsley Building serves only to accentuate the sheerness of scale. This is Park Avenue as whimsical grandeur.

This print is authorised for publication by the artist's Estate and has a seal of authenticity embossed onto the white paper margin. It is from a limited edition of 850 and is hand-numbered and hand-embossed. This print has a typed caption running along its paper border. The caption indicates permission and authorisation from the artist's Estate, and from the museum or gallery holding the work. The caption will be concealed by a mount when the print is framed.
