Original artwork description
Paniyarams are ball-shaped dumplings made with fermented lentils and rice batter. These are one of the everyday breakfast food from South Indian cuisine. Amma generally means mother but it's also used to address elderly ladies.
I was drawn in by the smile of this lady cooking paniyarams. It seemed she really loved to cook and serve her customers. I have painted this on a grey toned paper which helps in highlighting the beautiful blue tones of her saree.
Signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
