Smell is one of the senses that we use instinctively and that is often overlooked. Smells, good and bad, come and we can only avoid them by covering our nose. We must also remember that the sense of smell gets tired, and after a while it gets used to the smell. But the sense of smell is much more and also requires imagination. Seeing images, places, works of art, transports us and makes the sense of smell give free rein to its imagination. Imagining smells, remembering smells are also an amalgam of sensations and images that evoke and bring back memories.
