Original artwork description
New ground
The painting shows an island on the horizon and a wave lapping at the viewer in the foreground. It creates the feeling of travelling towards or away from the island on a ship. For me, painting the picture was about setting off into something new. The painting radiates a mystical and calm atmosphere and invites you to go on a journey of discovery to places of personal longing. Many thin layers of colour and the mixture of acrylic with different materials create greater depth and special light effects. The painting was exhibited in solo exhibitions in Göttingen and Bad Hersfeld in 2023 and at the ARTe Konstmesse in Constance in 2024. The sides of the picture are painted so that it can also be hung without a frame. The picture is signed on the front and back and is ready to hang. The picture surface has a varnish coating with UV protection.
