Mountain River Charnali, Georgia – Diptych (2025) Original Oil Painting by Anastasiia Aguf

Mountain River Charnali, Georgia is a diptych of two original oil paintings, created from direct observation of a mountain river in Georgia.
The two paintings capture different views and changing impressions of the same river. Fast-moving water flows between rounded rocks, reflecting the surrounding vegetation and mountain light. In one composition, cooler blues, violets and soft earthy tones emphasize the movement of the stream, while the second introduces warmer greens, ochres and golden reflections.
Painted with energetic, visible brushstrokes and rich layers of colour, both works focus on the constantly changing surface of the water, the rhythm of the rocks and the natural atmosphere of the Georgian mountain landscape.
The individual paintings are titled Georgian Mountain Stream and Mountain River Charnali, Georgia. They are offered together as a pair and form a natural diptych, while each painting also has its own complete composition.
