Medieval Monk Bar, York (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Andrew Reid Wildman

£169

The artwork presents Monk Bar, York’s tallest and most elaborate medieval gateway, as the commanding centrepiece. The two square towers rise with unmistakable authority, their crenellated battlements and cross motifs rendered in acrylic with a slightly softened texture. The arched passageway is darkened, pulling the viewer inward and giving the sense of stepping into York’s layered history.

This artwork would be an ideal addition to any collection of York or English artwork.

Texture has been added to create extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished.

Materials used:

cotton and wood canvas, acrylic paint, paper/card, glue, clear varnish gloss
