Miezi Cat (2022) Original Acrylic Painting by Nan Zhao

This abstract cat painting was inspired by a friend's cat, who exuded elegance and grace while sitting still. The painting is composed of rich, colorful blocks that come together to form an abstract representation of the feline form. The composition also includes a vase with linear elements that complement and echo the lines of the cat.

As the artist, I hope that viewers of this work will be drawn in by the vibrancy and playfulness of the colors, and will find joy in the abstract interpretation of the cat. I also hope that the interplay between the cat and the vase will encourage viewers to contemplate the relationship between different elements in their own lives.

In choosing to use an abstract style and bold colors, I wanted to capture the essence of the cat's character rather than a literal representation. The medium of paint allowed me to experiment with different colors and techniques to create a unique and expressive piece.
