This fine art lithography print ‘Meeting at Dawn’ is set in an imaginative landscape. Several creatures finding each other for an early morning meeting.
The image developed from a series of watercolour, pencil and crayon drawings I made as part of my early morning drawing sessions. It is printed with the fine art lithography technique, because this allows the image to keep its painterly appearance.
To me, my early morning drawing sessions are a special time of day. I try to keep my mind free of planning and preparing for new prints and instead experiment with spontaneous ideas and my drawing materials.
Most of my ideas for my etchings or lithographs emerge from these creative sessions.
The image size is 24cm x 24cm with a paper margin of about 5cm all around. This allows for different framing options. 'Meeting at Dawn' is printed in a small edition of 6 from 4 lithography plates on a Deffa off-set press on acid free fine art printmaking paper.
