Original artwork description:

"Matcha" is a green tea that I drink tons of. The traditional way is to measure it with a bamboo 'spoon' called a chasahaku, add some hot water and then whisk the mixture to a froth with a bamboo chasen or whisk. The traditional chasen is made from a single piece of bamboo where the tines have been individually cut and bent. To see a video of the process, click here and here. And to see images and read about it, click here.

Materials used:

canvas on board, archival oil paints
