I interpreted "Macbeth", one of the most famous and quoted Shakespearean tragedies, whose operatic version was set to music by Giuseppe Verdi. The painting, in expressionist style, which is also a tribute to the great conductor Riccardo Muti, offers subtle but dense brushstrokes rich in pictorial material. The vehemence of the vivid and saturated colours infuse power and extraordinary energy to the scene, where the atmosphere of lightning and thunder that frames a Scotland of the Lower Middle Ages also takes shape.
