Original artwork description:

Lucky peacock butterfly
A few warm days,
It appears,
Just that little bit of sunshine,
That’s all it needs,

Colourful,
Wings,
Displayed before me,
Then it flys away.

Words and feelings of my experience when I spotted the lucky peacock butterfly just for that short time in the vale of Wincombe of North Dorset to Wiltshire border.

I used heavy thick high quality watercolour paper 200 lb St Cuthberts Mill , pencilled out the butterfly and then bit by bit created the detail with a few different sable haired brushes a gift from my dad.
The background of the peacock butterfly was created using a wet in wet technique and then patterns of exspression by moving the watercolour paint .

Materials used:

Rough textured watercolour paper St Cuthberts Mill 200lb acid free, Windsor and Newton watercolour paints,Sable haired brushes, water,
