Lovers and Full Moon (2022) Original Acrylic Painting by Phyllis Mahon

On this magical night, with a full moon low on the horizon, two lovers watch enthralled.
To add to this romantic and mysterious atmosphere, I have painted the whole image in shades of my favourite Phthalo Blue and White; I have retained the graphite lines from which I sketched the layout.

A few of the photos show the work in progress in my studio, on the mantlepiece in my sitting room under a spotlight, as well as outside in front of the large beech trees which surround my garden to the west - sometimes at night I love to see the moon captured in these branches - it's inspirational!
Note that the woman's finely painted veil comes to rest on my signature and date, bottom right, see the close up photograph.

I use only Winsor & Newton Professional acrylics and it is sprayed with two layers of Archival Gloss Varnish.

Ready to hang.

The painting is on a wooden board (8 x 8") and it is presented in a professionally made tulipwood tray-frame (9.5 x 9.5").

It will be packaged carefully and sent to you by Tracked Delivery.
