Love. Bench Off-Cut (2025) Original Mixed-media Painting by Show Pony
56 x 20 x 2cm
£600
Original artwork description
My workbenches get splattered and specked with paint and the process, which happens organically, eventually leaves the surface looking so beautiful. I've been using them to paint lettering into, to create these one-off typographic pieces.
For this series of bench off-cuts I laid stencils over freshly painted sheets of wood, and used them as my workbench for many months. I've slowly started cutting the benches up and peeling back the stencils to reveal space for the lettering, so that I can hand-paint the text in with gloss enamel.
One off original painting.
Created with a combination of stencil-work and freehand painting
