The title Lord of the lsles was lost by the Macdonald Clan in 1493 to James lV of James Scotland .The present title is held by the Duke of Rothsay , Prince Charles . The only remaining land owned by the Macdonald family is the little known island of Cara off the coast of Gigha .oil on canvas .
