£225

An Impressionist Scottish landscape painting capturing the the summit of Lochnagar above the Deeside, from across the vast sweep of the deep corrie, where rugged Highland slopes rise in broken planes of colour. The mountain is softened by shifting light, its rugged rocky summit emerging through a veil of cool blue-grey and violet stormy clouds. Loose, expressive brushstrokes suggest heather, granite and wind-bent grasses in the foreground, while patches of muted gold and green catch the low sunlight. The corrie falls away in broad, sweeping forms, creating a sense of depth and solitude. Rather than depicting every detail, the painting evokes the mood of the landscape—wild, remote and luminous—with vivid touches of colour dissolving into the ever changing dramatic Highland sky.

Painted with a palette knife using quality artists paints on a small square format 8" x 8" (20 x 20cm) canvas, with a varnish finish and white square profile wooden frame with cord ready to hang.
Please note the frame may differ slightly to the one shown due to availability.
