This painting is a striking example of abstract expressionism. It conveys not a specific landscape, but rather a sense of the pristine, pulsating energy of nature. Color Scheme and Dynamics: Contrast of Elements: The center of the canvas is filled with warm, earthy hues (ochre, terracotta, orange, and brown). They clash with a cool frame of turquoise, blue, and greenish tones, creating a sense of the struggle between land and water. Light Accents: Inclusions of white and soft blue create the effect of sunbeams breaking through the thickness of matter, or streams of clear water. Composition and Texture: Multilayered Brushwork: The artist uses dense, dynamic, and multidirectional brushwork. Palette knife or thick brush strokes overlap, creating a complex relief reminiscent of tree bark, a slice of rock, or bubbling magma. Centripetal movement: All the color spots swirl toward the center, forming a notional globe or an island in the middle of the ocean. This focuses the viewer's attention on the "heartbeat" of the earth. The effect of "living" chaos: There are no clear lines or static objects in the painting. Because of this, the image appears fluid: upon prolonged gaze, the outlines of cliffs, valleys, clouds, and hills become discernible in the abstract forms.
