Lily Pond Reflections (2016) Linocut by Alexandra Buckle

A large reduction linocut of the lily pond at Oxford Botanic Gardens. I captured the lily pads whilst they were lit by a moody, cloudy sky. I particularly liked the depth added to the scene by the reflected shadowy tree. This print is layered up with eight different colours and is an edition of only nine prints.

A reduction lino print is formed with several layers of colour which are cut and printed from the same block of lino. I print all of my work by hand, in very limited editions. Small variations do occur between them but this just serves to make each individual print truly original.

This work is printed with water-based, light-fast inks on Somerset Satin paper and has a beautiful matt finish. It is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom, mounted in a neutral colour and wrapped in cellophane to keep it clean.

This artwork will be packaged in a bubble envelope with plenty of card support for safety.

Materials used:

Printed on Somerset Satin with water-based light-fast inks. Mounted to fit into a 16 x 20 inch frame.
