Painted on-site at Boerner Botancial Gardens in Hales Corners, WI. Features two lilac bushes in full bloom. The one at the right has lavender-purple flower heads, and the one at the left has reddish and pink flower heads. Below the lilac on the left is a shrub rose with hot pink blooms. Between the lilacs can be glimpsed the burgundy colored foliage of a background tree. Taller green trees tower above the lilacs, with an evergreen on the left. A blue and white sky completes the scene.
Painted Plein air style with oil over casein paint using both brush and palette knife. The shapes of the flower heads have been enhanced with oil paint thickly applied with palette knife. Framed in a 3" wide wood frame with a reddish-brown finish and beaded gold inner edge. May be purchased unframed by request.
