Original artwork description
Inspired by the red-rock wilderness of the American West, I contrasted the intense red formations with a deep blue sky. I simplified the landscape and used broad, direct, energetic brushstrokes, allowing color itself to carry the emotion. Dark violet-brown tones in the foreground strengthen the warm–cool contrast and give the painting a sense of vastness, sunlight, and the rugged vitality of the desert.
