Lemon Light belongs to my series The Geometry of Elsewhere, in which I explore how architecture, colour and light can hold the atmosphere of a remembered place.

A lemon tree rises in the foreground, its bright fruit illuminated against warm peach, coral and pink architecture. Beyond the terrace, an intense blue sea leads towards a quiet island on the horizon. I simplified the scene into clear planes of colour, allowing the natural and architectural forms to exist in a suspended moment of Mediterranean stillness.

For me, the lemons are small vessels of captured sunlight. Their vivid yellow brings warmth and vitality to the composition, while the distant sea introduces a feeling of openness and escape. The painting does not portray one specific location; instead, it brings together fragments of travel, memory and imagined landscapes.

This is a unique, original oil painting created entirely by hand. There are no editions or reproductions. The artwork is signed on the reverse and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
