Original artwork description
Learning To Fly (2025)
“There is a specific frequency of blue that makes you feel weightless. This painting is about that exact moment when you stop wading in the shallows and decide to let the current take you.”
The Mediterranean Pulse: This monumental 200x120 cm canvas is a vibrant explosion of summer energy. It is a departure from the misty silence of the north, moving instead toward the electric, high-saturation tones of the Mediterranean. By stretching a vertical memory of sunlight hitting deep turquoise water into a vast horizontal panorama, I have captured the "kaleidoscopic magic" of a perfect summer day.
The Musical Riddle: The title Learning To Fly is a direct nod to my "sonic diary". It hides a connection to a specific anthem of freedom—a track that echoed through the studio and dictated the rhythmic, upward momentum of the brushstrokes. I invite you to find the melody that matches this turquoise vibration; only then is the full synergy of the Blinkered series unlocked.
A Symphony of Light: As an artist living with ADHD and autism, I use color to regulate my internal tempo. To capture this "liquid joy," I applied dozens of layers of acrylic using unconventional DIY sponges and rags, creating a surface that seems to radiate its own light. This work is designed to act as a permanent source of positive energy, transforming any large contemporary space into a sanctuary of light and optimism.
