Original artwork description:

The bright and warm colors of the setting sun and the very long shadows of early spring give this painting a feel of loving warmth and a bit of solace I think.
Just one day of sketching offered me enough inspiration for a dozen paintings. At this specific spot (near the village of Vinkeveen) I was overwhelmed with the bright orange sunlight playing around these robust tree trunks. I know what van Gogh would do – was wat I thought..
At the studio, preparing my panels I decided I would give it a try because, well… van Gogh is no longer around :)

The painting is varnished and framed in a wooden, ‘white washed’ frame. The panel is glued to a canvas of the same size to make it float in the frame. (this could be undone if that is your wish).
