Last Year's Hydrangea in the Morning Light (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Linda Jones

42 x 59 x 2cm (unframed) / 42 x 59cm (actual image size)

£344

This original, abstract painting evokes the soft quality of the sunlight in the early morning. Intricate edges of last years seedheads are explored in shades of blue. I used blue pastel to pick out the shapes of dried petals and then drew a veil of white paint across to soften the colour. Soft pastel, acrylic paint, pencil and oil pastel all come together to finish this gentle piece on cradled birch panel. The artwork is ready to hang with no frame needed.
The artwork, as always, is signed and dated on the back with my initials on the front

Materials used:

Soft pastel, acrylic paint, coloured pencil, oil pastel
