While creating this painting, I was inspired by the feeling of standing beside still water at the end of the day. The world becomes quieter, reflections soften the landscape, and the boundary between earth, sky, and water begins to disappear. Rather than depicting a specific place, I wanted to capture the emotional memory of that moment — a sense of calm, openness, and contemplation.

The artwork was developed through multiple layers of acrylic paint using palette knives, brushes, scraping techniques, and expressive gestural marks. Rich textures create depth and movement throughout the surface, while transparent layers reveal subtle variations that emerge under changing light conditions.

A sophisticated palette of soft blue, mist gray, ivory white, charcoal black, deep graphite, and subtle green undertones creates a harmonious and timeless atmosphere. Contrasts between luminous passages and darker forms evoke reflections across water, distant shorelines, and expansive skies.

Although entirely abstract, Stillwater Passage often recalls lakes, rivers, wetlands, coastal inlets, and atmospheric horizons. Existing between abstraction and landscape, the painting invites personal interpretation while maintaining a strong emotional connection to nature.
