The things not often seen because we are programmed to believe that the desert is a place of death and emptiness. As a child the word desert was attached to Death Valley alone, barren, hot, dead. Truth is the desert is alive with beauty unnumbered. Treasures hidden for the adventurous to find. Life and beauty, like this blooming prickly pear, the go hand in hand with the word desert.
