Land of Confusion (2024)
“The sunset is a boundary that constanty shifts. It’s the moment when the familiarity of the day dissolves into the shadow of the night, leaving us in a space where certainty is replaced by a beautiful, haunting confusion.”

* The Final Radiance: This monumental 100 x 150 cm abstract landscape on 3D linen canvas is a visceral study of longing. It captures the heavy, crimson glow of a setting sun as it sinks below a dense, dark tree line. By applying the Blinkered method to this large scale, I have distilled the horizon into a burning pulse of deep reds and scorched earth tones, contrasted against an expansive, nearly infinite dark sky that dominates the upper half of the work.

* The Musical Cipher: The title Land of Confusion is a pivotal entry in my "sonic diary." It references a specific track with a driving, complex rhythm that informed the intense, physical layering of the paint. I invite the collector to seek the auditory counterpart to this fiery horizon; only when the music’s tension aligns with the "bleeding" textures of the canvas is the true synergy of the work’s emotional duality unlocked.

* Sculptural Tension: Executed on a premium 3D linen canvas, the work has a powerful architectural presence. Using unconventional DIY tools like rags and sponges, I built dozens of glazes to create a surface that feels like it’s vibrating with heat. This contemporary painting acts as a mirror for the human experience—a celebration of the day's end, mixed with the quiet uncertainty of what lies in the shadows, making it a profound centerpiece for any modern collection.
