Hummingbirds have a long history of folklore and symbolism in native cultures. The Aztecs saw them as messengers between them and their ancestors or the gods. In Native American culture, Hummingbirds are seen as healers, and bringers of love, good luck and joy.
This painting is created with oil paints, fine brushes on a gold acrylic background which glows in the light. The deep edge canvas is painted around the edges. Diamond Dust from Culture Hustle has been sprinkled on the birds which sparkle in the light much like the feathers of a real hummingbird
