“QUINTESSENCES” COLLECTION
“Quintessences is a collection of visual chapters inspired by the places that have shaped who I am.
The central silhouette of a woman, containing a hummingbird, becomes a vessel of an inner universe where light,
lemons, and fragmented cities coexist with memory and emotion.
The work is rooted in a nomadic condition shaped by immigrations: the ongoing negotiation between integrating into
new cultures while preserving one’s own, and the simultaneous search for belonging, ancestry, and emotional origin. It
reflects the tension of being both included and rejected by the places one inhabits, and the quiet persistence of
building identity across shifting geographies. Knowing one’s roots and letting them grown in another soil, making the
whole World a home.
Inside the figure, these experiences are not narrated but transformed into color, rhythm, and spatial logic, where
multiplicity becomes a single, breathing image of perception.
Noche de San Juan is a traditional midsummer celebration held on the night of June 23rd, mainly in Spain and parts of Latin America. It marks the eve of the Feast of Saint John the Baptist, but its roots go back to ancient pagan rituals of the summer solstice. People gather on beaches and around bonfires to symbolize purification, renewal, and letting go of the past. Common traditions include jumping over fires, swimming in the sea at midnight, and making wishes for good luck and new beginnings.
