My true passion is in colour and how the arrangement of colour can produce a different emotional experience of art. I want to create paintings which draw the viewer in, which makes them stop…and then see more than the initial work form and colour.
I have many influences from Lucian Freud, Picasso, to Botticelli. A few years ago, I was given a book of Botticelli's works; his use of colour instantly struck me.
Since then, I have grown bolder and more spontaneous, using the palette knife to build texture into my work. I like to sculpt the paints with my palette knife and feel the passion and emotion as the image takes shape on the canvas before
