King Alfred’s Tower woodland, Somerset
A peaceful time,
Early morning in Winter,
Braving the elements,
Sheltering from the cold wind, I begin to paint,
Tall beech tree trunk's, bracken and celandines,
Fresh green moss coating the earth.
Words and feelings of an experience that I shared with my sketchy ladies art group recently.
Original expressive watercolour created in a ahistorical landscape on Stourhead estate.
I used cold pressed Fabriano 300gsm 140lb. Four colour technique using a wet on wet expressive technique. Etched out the paint with my nail, mark making and pressing the paint on for the detail over the watery washes.
Signed on the front and back of painting
